| Public Safety and Animal Shelter (87-30) |
Plans now include the design and construction of an approximately sized 40,000 square foot combined police facility / fire station to be located on Eldorado Parkway in front of Town Hall. The police facility will accommodate current overcrowding issues and future staff growth. The facility will include a jail, police and fire dispatch, sally port, juvenile/victim interview rooms, storage, evidence storage, emergency operations center and patrol officer and detective work areas. A new central station provides sufficient accommodations to properly operate a “central” station. Productivity and efficiency improves operating under one roof. As Town growth continues, central station will be able to manage the anticipated increase in call volume and services. The new facility will house will be able to house two engine companies, medic crew, future rescue company, future battalion chief, administration personnel, training room, hands-on training room, inspections, investigations, EMS supplies, bunker gear supply, rehab, conference room, and emergency operations center. The new animal shelter will be located on Mark Tree Drive near the Public Woks Service Center and the the wastewater treatment plant. The building is estimated to be 3,500 square feet and include space for current and future animal control services. |
| Community / Recreation Center & Senior Center (87-40) |
The Community Recreation Center shall be a new single structure that combines the components of a Community Center and a Recreation Center into one facility and shall be located near the intersection of Main Street and Lakeshore Drive on property currently owned by the Town of Little Elm. The programming for the Community Center includes a multi-use meeting room space to host public events and public/private meetings, multi-use recreational center for basketball, volleyball , exercise area, classroom and instructional leisure activities. The anticipated size of the facility is estimated between 17,000 and 20,000 square feet. The Senior Center shall be a new structure constructed for use by the Senior Citizens of the Town of Little Elm. The New Senior Center will be located on the same site as the Community Recreation Center. The programming for the Senior Center includes a multi-use meeting room space to host senior events, exercise area, kitchen, and other multi-use areas. The anticipated size of the facility is estimated between 3,500 and 4,500 square feet. |
| Witt Road Bridge (87-58) |
This project includes design and construction of a bridge for Witt Road over the Cottonwood Creek. It has an extremely low elevation and is frequently closed due to high water. This roadway connects F.M. 423 to Eldorado Parkway and is instrumental to local mobility and emergency response time. This bridge is located on the only north-south thoroughfare through Little Elm. |
| Eldorado Parkway Streetscape (87-50) |
Eldorado Parkway runs directly through the heart of Little Elm. The Town desires to establish a streetscape that will uniquely identify Little Elm through the incorporation of enhancements, including landscaping and lighting, along the roadway. Construction will include the installation of landscape, irrigation and monuments markers at several points of entry into the Town of Little Elm. |
| King Road Reconstruction (10-02) |
King Road will be widened to a four-lane from Witt Road eastward to FM 423. This project will provide a four-lane undivided roadway which would service transportation needs for the surrounding neighborhoods, the Hackberry Elementary School, traffic from Brent Intermediate School, improved access for commercial and retail businesses along King Road, and improved safety cross-thru traffic flow access off FM 423. The improved roadway will also encourage expansion of local business and attract outside commercial and retail business along King Road and Witt Road. |
| Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion (76-10) |
This project will expand the existing wastewater treatment plant that is located at 1601 Brenda Lane from two million gallons per day to it's maximum permitted capacity of three million gallons per day. These improvements include adding lift station pumps, clarifiers, advanced filtration units, ultraviolet units, and aeration basin. It will also include a comprehensive odor control system to address the existing odor issues in this area. |
| Witt-Woodlake Connector (87-57) |
This project includes construction and design of a road to connect and align Witt Road with Woodlake Parkway at the intersection of Eldorado Parkway. The work includes a North South thoroughfare for the Town of Little Elm. This road realignment will provide access to Eldorado Pkwy for Villages of Woodlake and traffic using Witt Road. This project will include dredging of the HOA detention pond, street lighting, sidewalks and enhanced landscaping. |
| Cottonwood Ball Park Irrigation Well (76-13) |
The project consists of drilling and completing a 150 gallon per minute well to provide irrigation for the Cottonwood Ball Park Complex located on Lobo Lane. This irrigation will allow the Town to water the ball fields and landscape at Cottonwood Park without use of the public water supply. This well facility will protect the turf and landscaping during times of extreme drought. |
| FM 423 Water Line and Cottonwood Creek Sewer Trunk (76-12) |
This project includes design and construction of a new 16" water line adjacent to FM 423 from FM 720 to King Road. Also a new sewer line will be constructed along Cottonwood Creek from Witt Road to FM 423. This water and sewer project will provide first time service to the FM 423 and Smotherman Road area, increase fire hydrant flows on the south side of Town, and resolve sewer capacity concerns for the Eldorado Estates subdivision. Additionally the water and sewer lines will encourage and support future retail and commercial development along the FM 423 corridor. |
| Main Street (West) Paving and Drainage Phase 1 (87-60) |
The Main Street West Project is designed to build a new main street from Clark Street west into Little Elm Park. The project includes construction of a 31 foot wide concrete street with underground drainage, new and up sized water and sewer infrastructure, concrete sidewalks with stamped brick crosswalks at the intersections, pedestrian street lighting, enhanced landscaping with trees and irrigation, and a new trail head parking area to access the Little Elm Park trail system. The project is one of many projects currently underway in and around the old down town/ Main Street area. The planning and design for this and the other projects are being coordinated with the concept plan for the proposed Town Center. Design and construction details are included in this project to enhance and support the future Town Center area. |
| Mansell Pump Station Improvement (76-15) |
The scope of this project includes renovations and additions to the pump system at the Mansell Pump Station that include replacing the existing high service pumps and associated electrical equipment with larger capacity pumps. An emergency generator will be installed to allow for continued water supply in the event of a power outage. The pump station improvements will increase flow and pressure throughout the system. |
| Eldorado Water and Wastewater Project (76-14) |
One of the largest water and sewer pipe line projects the Little Elm has ever constructed, this project includes installing 25,464 feet of 16 and 20 inch water main line along Eldorado from Woodlake Parkway to French Settlement Drive and 11,623 feet of sewer force main and gravity sewer line from Hardwicke to French Settlement Drive. The project will include construction of water and sewer mains on the new Little Elm bridge to be built by the Texas Department of Transportation with the Eldorado Parkway widening project. In addition to removing existing conflicts of water and sewer lines with the soon to occur Eldorado widening project, several other benefits will come with the completion of the project. The Town will gain added capacity and increased fire flows in the older areas of the Town, connection of the Town’s two water systems, increased fire flows for the west side of Town and sanitary sewer service will be available for the area of the Town west of the Little Elm bridge. This will enhance existing homes and businesses along Eldorado Parkway and provide opportunity for retail/commercial growth for the west side of Little Elm. |
| Eldorado Parkway Wastewater Improvement East Side (76-11) |
The project is designed to correct capacity deficiencies in the existing wastewater system and relocate sewer lines adjacent to Eldorado Parkway to make way for the Eldorado Parkway widening project. The project will construct new sewer lift stations and sewer force mains along Eldorado Parkway from Hardwicke Drive east to Preston on the Lake Boulevard. This new wastewater infrastructure will provide capacity for future development of the west side of Little Elm. |
| Lobo Lane Improvement (87-55) |
The project includes the design and construction of underground storm water system to improve drainage and construction of a concrete street with sidewalk improvements and a trail to connect Cottonwood Park to Little Elm Park along the west side, street lighting, and landscape enhancements. Improvements will provide increased capacity for existing schools, marina development, Cottonwood Sports Complex, and Industrial development. The project scope was increased to include extending Lobo Lane through Little Elm Park and connecting to Main Street. |
| Eldorado Parkway 2.0 MGD Elevated Water Tower (76-17) |
This project will include a two million gallon elevated water tower. It is planned this tower would be located at the intersection of Little Elm Parkway and Eldorado Parkway on property that is currently owned by the Texas Department of Transportation. |
| Backup Generators (Town Hall & Service Center/WWTP) (87-61) |
This project will add emergency power supply for the Town's critical facilities. Construction will include backup power systems for Town Hall, Public Works Service Center, and for the planned Public Safety Center. In the event of a disaster the Town will need to maintain services and provide a continuity of government. |
| Parks Master Plan Studies (112-6214-55-00) |
The Cottonwood Park Master Plan includes an update to the entire park limits incorporating the Lobo Lane extension, exploring ideas with the remaining land, ideas to improve visibility to the water, additional parking, and provide opinion of probable costs for each item. As with the other studies, this addition will include illustrations and renderings of the proposed improvements to better able the public to visualize those ideas. |
